my lad try to reg with forum, and keeps coming up an error has ocurred. any ideas. i tried for him and same happend.


edit...i done it via admin. but there may be a prob with the registration for public.

Yeah, I just tried registering as a test and had the same. After you accept the T&Cs and click register, it says an error has occurred.

It happens unfortunately, some have the problem, others don't, not much I can do about it

What browser are you using John/Rob?

If you are using MF, it might be due to that. Strangely.

I use firefox and have no problem and i've also tried it with ie and no problem there either, don't think it's a browser thing

Hmm, fair enough. Just one of those annoying bugs.

Might it be worth adding an info message for potential new users that sometimes the registration doesn't work, then forward an email to an admin so the account can be created?

Why doesn't this bug work on all the forum spammers that are all of a sudden trying to register on here, we've had about 20 registrations this week alone, all dodgy.

I've had a tinker today though and hopefully they won't be able to register from now on, i've done a mod that checks all your information against the stop forum spam website during registration and if it finds anything it won't allow the registration to continue, hopefully it works, only time will tell.

Some of the other forums I frequent have been having the same problem rob. I expect the problem will sort itself out soon.
